Join Excel Sports and Physical Therapy for an informative and interactive hour-long presentation focused on understanding and reducing the risk of falls. This session will provide valuable insights into the key factors that contribute to falls, including environmental hazards and personal health factors. We’ll also cover practical strategies for fall-proofing the home, with easy-to-implement tips to create a safer living space.

Key topics include:
  • Identifying Fall Risk Factors: Understand the physical, environmental, and medical factors that increase the likelihood of falling, and learn how to assess your own risk.
  • Fall-Proofing Your Home: Practical advice on simple modifications and safety tips to make your home safer, such as proper lighting, removing obstacles, and securing furniture.
  • Balance Testing: Learn about different types of balance tests and how they can help identify potential risk for falls, as well as the importance of regular assessments.
  • Exercises to Decrease Fall Risk: Discover exercises that strengthen key muscles, improve coordination, and enhance balance, helping to reduce your chances of falling.
Following the presentation, there will be a Q&A session to address any specific concerns or questions participants may have.
