Discover the joy of playing a string instrument with expert instruction from Mary Sweetin, a classically trained violinist, violist, and cellist with both Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Music from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.
Mary brings a wealth of professional experience, having performed with ensembles such as the Bach Society Orchestra and the St. Louis Ballet Orchestra and serving as concertmaster of the University City Symphony Orchestra. Since 2008, she has directed the orchestra at St. Charles Community College, leading students in performances of major symphonic works every semester.
An award-winning educator (Adjunct Faculty of the Year, SCC Humanities Division), Mary teaches students ages 8 through adult with lessons tailored to each individual’s goals—whether you’re just beginning, refining your skills, or preparing for college auditions.
