Batter up! Do you know how baseball transformed from a pastoral game to a multi-billion dollar business, who were the great stars of the St. Louis Browns, or how the St. Louis Cardinals got their name?  Explore the rich history of baseball through the ages.  Have you been told that Abner Doubleday invented baseball (a myth) or that it once took four strikes to get an out (true!)  Get reacquainted with stalwarts like Babe Ruth, Josh Gibson, Rogers Hornsby and meet colorful characters such as Michael King Kelly and John Leonard Roosevelt Pepper Martin, players who were the idols of fans back then as Miguel Cabrera and Adam Wainwright are today.
