Senior QUEST: The Art of the Journal: Sustainable Book Arts

ID : 22362

« back to classes page
Elevate the "junk journal" trend into a professional book arts practice! In this one-hour workshop, we will master the structural beauty of Japanese stab binding and pamphlet stitch binding.

We will use " Reduce, Reuse, Recycle" principles to transform everyday items—including recycled thin cardboard—into functional, personalized art pieces.

What to expect: We provide all structural materials (needles, thread, glue, sketchbook paper, and cardboard covers).

What to bring: Please bring a collection of your own "junk journal" elements, such as magazine clippings, found textures, or interesting paper scraps to personalize your first journal pages.

Skill level: Beginner-friendly; no prior experience is needed.

We will conclude the session by using our newly constructed sketchbooks to begin a relaxing, shared journaling practice.

This workshop is designed for adults of all skill levels to enjoy an hour of creativity, connection, and craft.
