From Tolstoy to Malloy: Exploring Great Comet invites students to dive deep into the world of Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812. Through dramaturgy, historical research, script analysis, and character exploration, students will examine the events and culture of early 19th-century Russia and learn how parts of Tolstoy's War and Peace were transformed into Dave Malloy's musical.  This class will deepen your understanding of the show's themes, characters, and creative process while strengthening the analytical skills of a thoughtful theatre artist.
