| Instructor Biography: Bob Gill | |
| Bob Gill, an East St. Louis resident for 20 years, graduated from Southern Illinois University and now lives in Alton, Illinois. He currently is the Instructional Media Manager at St. Charles Community College. Bob has been involved with the media for over 35 years as a teacher, independent video producer and a multimedia specialist. He has produced numerous video documentaries on a wide variety of subjects. His “Leclaire: Looking Back On 100 Years of Prosperity” won Best Documentary from the Illinois Historical Society in 1990. His holocaust documentary, “Common Courage: Stories of Survival” won the 1999 award for Best Documentary from the Missouri Film Festival. In the course of his career in video, Bob has traveled extensively in the U.S. and in Mexico, Ireland, Germany and Russia. For the past 16 years, Bob has been giving presentations regularly on numerous topics related to media, history, the environment and technology. These have been given to community groups, academic classes and at various educational conferences including the Missouri Community College Association, MORENet, the Midwest Educational Technology Conference, the League For Innovation in the Community College and the DESE Educational Technology Conference. Bob is also a musician and play the harmonica and djembe (African Drum). | |
